Start early looking for schools
Looking for a new school is very stressful. I am experiencing this at the moment as my daughter will soon be going to secondary school and when you go to their open days they all look good. A helpful tip is to look at schools as early as possible. I have started a year early because I have so many schools to look at, in my area where I live and where I work. I haven't decided whether it would be beneficial for my daughter to continue to travel to central London or go to a school nearer home. By starting to look early, next year I can choose maybe the best eight and look at them again to make sure my daughter and I are happy. Years ago you only had three choices but these days you have six. I worried about making the wrong choices but what I realise whatever school she goes to the schooling at home is the most important. Don't rely on the teachers to teach or the teachers to discipline - this should start in the home.
